We are The Car Care Couple. We’ve been married 51 years and counting and have 5 children and 18 grandchildren.
Our interest in car care started when we were introduced to AMSOIL. From there, we began learning more about how to properly take care of engines and vehicles the right way.
Over time, we’ve learned a lot and shared what we’ve learned with our audience. Proper maintenance, safety, and doing things the right way matter to us. We don’t cut corners when it comes to vehicle care or safety practices.

My first car was a 1973 Mercury Montego. It helped me get my girl.
We were both living in Provo, Utah, at the time. Next door neighbors. She was attending Brigham Young University and I was working.
My coworkers convinced me that I needed a new car for my job selling insurance (yes, that’s how I started) and I bought this beauty.
It was a pretty cool car and the first thing I did with it was buy a cassette stereo system.
The day I got the stereo system installed I was sitting in the car listening to Karen Carpenter singing “Close to You” when this really cute neighbor of mine walked by.
I invited her to climb in and take a listen. She did and 52 years, 5 kids, and 18 grandchildren later, it’s still our favorite song.

My first car was a 1951 GMC ½ ton pickup I shared it with the rest of my siblings and my dad who went fishing in it.
Well, actually, maybe it was Dad’s truck, but we all learned to drive it. It had a starter on the floor and when he first let me drive it, he had to start it for me.
We lived next to the school building in our small Wyoming town and on Sundays Dad would start the truck for us, put it in first gear and we’d drive around and around the parking lot at the school. It was incredibly fun for a young teenager to do.
The old black truck had a bonus—Dad kept a not-so-secret cache of Pecan Sandies, his favorite cookie, under the driver’s seat. So, if you were in the truck, goodies were always close at hand.
